ParadiseBeats.com hypes Marty’s “purple music penetration”

The South African born, Brooklyn bred Martin Folb, better known by his stage moniker, MartyParty, plans to release his newest album, Six Shots of Jameson, through his own label, MartyPartyMusic, on January 30th. The project is the second in his series of Purple music albums, a term Folb coined and has since spread, describing smooth, electronic rhythms featuring pulsating beats in hip hop, glitch, moombahton, with sounds that lend to urban landscapes.

MartyParty is also one half of the duo PANTyRAiD with Josh (Ooah) of The Glitch Mob. When asked about Six Shots of Jameson, Folb told press:

“My mission is to change the way people think about electronic music and to bring the art of musical composition back into popular music. My dream is that I inspire others to do the same. We live in a digital world, I’m not interested in emulating anything that has been done before.”

The 12 track studio album displays cutting edge sounds and beats, with music that sounds like progressive dubstep with deeply rooted hip-hop inflections. Over the years, MartyParty has developed a truly unique sound worthy of recognition. Along with the January 30th release, Folb also plans to travel North America on his Six Shots Tour. Check out the full tour schedule below, and learn more about tickets here. To build anticipation, MartyParty sent us this free download from the unreleased album to wet your palates with purple music penetration. Enjoy, peep the tracklist, and learn more about MartyParty on Facebook and at his Official Website.

WompBlog Compares Marty To A Bottle Of Scotch

WompBlog.com

Purple don MartyParty isn’t fuckin around. He just debuted the single from his upcoming LP, Six Shots of Jameson and no surprise, it’s incredible. Lushly layered minor chords weave over taught percussion and fierce sub bass, punctuated by skanky synth stabs and reverbed synth-horns. The drop is a riveting, spinetingling bass-gasm, but it’s also incredibly smooth and rich, not unlike the some really good bourbon. Or scotch.

The track displays not so much restraint (though there is that – nothing here is overdone or melodramatic) as mastery. MartyParty, now 6+ years and hundreds of tracks deep into the production game, is starting to reap the benefits of all that time spent crafting. This is some jedi master shit here – he’s making it look easy.

Which is not to say he’s getting old. MartyParty may be granddaddy purps to all these young whippersnappers, but his stage energy is second to none. During a live MartyParty show, aka The Purple Opera, he’s building every jam from scratch, assembling loops and samples, as well as mixing in new tunes from other producers, all the while dancing harder than anyone in the crowd. It’s a fucking blast.

So you better get motherfucking hyped that he’s announced a slough of US tour dates from February to March. The purple mothership lands in NYC Feb 17th at Drom. “Fantastic” Says Waxhole About “Just Because Of You”

When MartyParty, a producer originally out of South Africa, isn’t making party mixes for his Young Pimp series or his Purple Rage mixtapes, he’s busy throwin’ down tunes like the one you see before you today. This tune marries the great sexy-time sounds of his PANTyRaid project (with Glitch Mob’s Ooah) and his normal glitchy bass sounds and concocts this fantastic little ditty. Again, if you don’t know MartyParty by now, get a hold of his stuff, and enjoy.

EarMilk.com Praises The Release Of “Just Because of You”

EarMilk.com

MartyParty, aka Marty Folb, the man who helped bring us the nasty track “Beba” (via PANTyRAiD – his duo with Ooah from The Glitch Mob) has, in typical style, dropped the bass once again. His debut work of 2012 “Just Because of You” (which he is exclusively premiering through EARMILK) will devour your eardrums, digest them, and regurgitate them with a bit more swag than they’ve ever had before. The horns, the kicks, the snares, the heavy bass – this track contains all the elements that made “Beba” such a crowd pleaser, yet is in a sense much more epic than the PANTyRAiD hit.

“Just Because of You” reverberates in your skull, and while it thunders along the avenue of Glitch-Hop his music is known for, it takes a detour from his previous works with a melodic feel that isn’t particularly prevalent in his previous works. All in all, the track is excellent, and is a snug fit in any party playlist. Check out the track below, and keep your ears tuned for more from Marty later this year. His new album, Six Shots of Jameson, hits stores January 30.

Welikeit.indie Talks About MartyParty’s ‘Tasty New Flavor’

welikeitindie.com

Since the release of his Young Pimp & SubOn offerings in July 2011, MartyParty has been crafting his next full length album Six Shots Of Jameson. The 12 track drama follows the energy & emotion of the club night. Once again we see genre bending creations & we yet again head on a journey through the MartyParty genre.

“My mission is to change the way people think about electronic music and to bring the art of musical composition back into popular music. My dream is that I inspire others to do the same. We live in a digital world, I’m not interested in emulating anything that has been done before.” – MartyParty

Whether you call it the new evolution of dubstep, the latest wave in Purple music or the next big thing for hip-hop, MartyParty’s big bass bangers are taking the electronic dance music scene by storm. With a fresh musicality & narrative track structure, MartyParty’s beats bring tasty new flavor to the dance scene, breaking up the monotony of standard electronic music.

When not on the road, or performing alongside Ooah in PANTyRAiD the South African-born performer + producer locks down in his Brooklyn- based studio to produce a diverse catalog of original heat – from downtempo compositions that slip behind the curtains of a dark & twisted audio fantasy to intense stadium anthems riddled with hooks + bass.

“Ice Cream Truck” Premiered on URB

urb

Looking for subtle, textured, intricate sound-design that only other producers could love? Then keep walking. The latest by MartyParty comes on like an evil clown selling wicked children frozen goodies laced with acid—all angry dubstep bass, grinding synths and the ubiquitous tune played by ice cream trucks the world over. Perhaps we’ve entered a new era of dance music—an analog to the beloved UK rave tunes of old that only now are we allowed to cop to owning a copy. Think early Prodigy or “Ebeneezer Goode.” Are you rushing? Are you rushing?
